Celebrating Siew Chi's birthay

Today we celebrated Siew Chi's Birthday in advanced. Welcome to the Club 30, Ms Chin.. Hahaha...LOL..

And I thought Singapore Parents are KiaSu....

Just when I thought Singapore parents are Kia Su.. This morning I receive a call from a china man enquiring for his friend's daughter.

My goodness, the gal is only primary 6 in China and there will be at least 5 years later before she can come to Singapore for any studies... Ask me so many details of the course and in 5 years time, all these information will definitely change lar.. course fee, entry requirement, specialisation.. etc...

Spoken to him for a few mins and I know this guy is going to drag on and on so I decided to pass it to my international "expertise" to handle him.... Aiyo.. this guy hor... really nuts, man... feel like asking him to go PLAY SPIDER... kns...

What a way to start the week.. Coool itt..... not going to let him spoil my day.. :)

My new camera.. Yeah...

Yeah... finally bought a new camera, sony W170.. at the PC Show last Sat. I spent at least 1 hour just trying to get a parking lot. Initially wanted to park at Shaw but as I pass by the carpark, they already block the entrance with "season parking only" Bo Bian lor..proceed to try my luck at Suntec City, since the board shows still have 28 lots available.. so I slowly queue from shaw all the way to suntec... then as i turn into suntec, the convention hall carpark also blocked with no entry.. so I continue to drive to carpark F, near carrrefour, also kena blocked... KNS.. if they dun allow us to park, just show the lot available at full lar... So no choice lor.. I make 1 big round again and then proceed to park at Espanade and then squeeze myself along with the crowd in citylink to Suntec..

Anyway, finally got the camera, though spend at least 3-4 hours to get it.:P Have not really started using it but have try out the unique function, smile shutter. Its quite cool, I can set it and then it will automatically take pic when it sense people smile. I try on myself.. quite cool.. cant wait to bring it out to play..LOLz..

Getting a New Camera

In order to capture better moments of my coming prince, I have decided to get a new digicam. Initially I was looking at a DSLR, however the price is a bit exp, $999, exceed budget.. kena rejected by my CFO. CFO only give me budget less than $700....

Beside the price, I have also consider that I will probably need to carry the camera around, so something small will be more convenient, rather than the bulky DSLR.. so... have shortlist the following:

Sony W170

  • 10.1 Mega Pixels with Super HAD CCD
  • Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar Lens with 5x Optical Zoom
  • Large 2.7" LCD Screen
  • BIONZ Image Processing Engine
  • Double “Anti-blur” Solution: Super SteadyShot and ISO 3200 High Sensitivity
  • Face Detection Technology for Children and Adults
  • Smile Shutter
  • Intelligent Scene Recognition
  • New Underwater Mode adjusts white balance in water
  • In-camera retouching
  • HD Slide Show with Select Music Playback
Now PC Show got offer, free 2 batteries, soft holder, aqua pack, screen protector, tripod, 4gb card... I am waiting for Sun to go down and see got better offer or not..:)

Initially also considering the Canon but the sales person very bo chap, not helpful and did not convince me that canon is better. His product knowledge KNS..

Gathering with colleagues

Last evening we have a gathering with some colleagues. Total 9 of us, Me, Rick, Fion, Remy, Viola, Yvonne, Aloysius, Karen and Ariel.

We went to this Zi Cha place at Elias Mall, a bit Ulu but the food not bad. We ordered Cereal Prawn, Coffee ribs, special tofu, steam soon hock, vege and the famous Crab Bee hoon, strongly recommended by Karen..

So the watress ask me 1 crab or 2 crabs, i said 1 enough liao, so she suggested 1 big one, i say ok. Tot since got 9 of us, 1 big crab is ok lar.... and when we happily finish the rest of the food, then came the "crab".. 1st reaction is : Wah Lau Eh.. Simi lai eh.... So big.... in front of me is a gigantic crab with the claw size of my palm.. The watress was smiling and said the crab came from sri lanka.. in my mind i was thinking, siao liao... this crab should have at least 3 kg.. well, since already order, eat lor...

Everyone seem to be very reluctunt to eat the crab at first, coz need to get the hands dirty mah.. so the guys use their hands lor and feed their beloved partner.. except me, Ariel and Karen....I choose the claw, think it should be the easiest to eat.. Bad decision..
The crab seem to be very tense when it was cooked coz the claw is clenched very tightly, i really need to whack the stupid claw with the "crab spanner" and even got my finger cut by the claw.. stupid me lor..

After finishing the food, we continue to talk cock, bitch about the work, make fun of each other.. really had a great time. Hopefully after my baby is born, can still meet up for such gathering.

My Prince's Ferrari

Finally managed to buy the baby pram and play pen, after much procastination. We were still considering which one to purchase and which one is better, more value for money and then comes the pressure from in-laws.. LOLZ..

Over the weekend we were really pressured to get the pram and bed, and seem they want to see it purchased before they go back to M'sia.. So here is it.. my son's ferrari..

Combi 350 - $498

Finally we bought the pram, and again we procastinate on the Playpen, until my in-law step in and grab the play pen into the trolley and pay at the cashier, LOLZ.. so here is it.

Playpen @ Giant, $99

So 2 big item settled.. can relax liao... :P

Its a long weekend.

I had a long weekend last week, on leave from Fri to Mon, coz my in-laws and my wife's sis and bro are all coming to Singapore to visit us. :) Its an exciting weekend coz its been a long while since we all gather (last time is CNY).

Fri:
After we pick up all of them, we had our lunch at Vivo City, 莆田兴化, in Food Republic. Food is great, although located inside a food court. Must try the "Lo Mee", fried beehoon, and shao bing..

For dinner, we had Zi ZHa near my place coz everyone was tired and wanted a early rest. But ordered too much food, eat until siao......

Sat:
We had light breakfast coz ate too much for dinner last nite. :P Initially wanted to go Sentosa but then the weather no good, so we change to shopping at Taka(boring for me, dad and bro in law), then we had lunch at Crystal Jade. Nice food, acceptable standard.
After lunch we proceed to shop shop shop... *Yawn.. finally decided to stop at 6plus and proceed to the Baby Fair at Singapore Expo( by the way, parking in Taka is really F!@#$$ EXP, cost me $21 for just 6 hrs!).. we have to queue for 35 mins before we get into the car park, car park slots all full, luckily managed to find a small gap at the side to squeeze my little Jazz.

The baby fair is really a disappointment.. I was hoping to see prams, cots, etc and then ended up all the big space are occuplied by Insurance companies.. only 2 small store exhibit their pathetic few prams and cots.. nothing much to see.. though i manage to get a thermometer for my baby..

Leave the fair after 30 mins, really nothing to see.. proceed to Dinner at Jumbo seafood ECP. The dinner is really sinful.. We had chili crab, shark fins soup, abalone with vege, fried rice, mee goreng, roasted chicken, sotong You Tiao, prawns w salted egg, otak otak... so much food that we need to ta pao the mee goreng..

Sun:
We had the left overs Mee Gorengs for breakfast.. and also some Ba Zhan.. then proceed to Toa Payoh to walk walk... nothing much to see then we proceed to China Town walk walk before going to Hung Kang for dinner, to celebrate Father's Day.

Food at Hung Kang Teochew Restuarant is good, Pure Teochew style, very fine..

Start with a Kungfu Tea, typical teochew style.

Cold Dish - for fried shark fins, very unique.

Shark Fin, very nice

Shou Tao - for Father's Day special.. (I am also a father le.. :P)

Braised Goose with "Mei Cai" and bean curd- In House specialty.. very delicious.

Steam Fish, teochew style

Prawns with dunno wat "gua" but very nice

Abalone mushroon with brocoli, yum yum

Mushroom with also dunno wat kind of shrooms.. so so.

The Restaurant

My parents-in-law

Da Sao and son

(Left to Right: Eldest sis, youngest bro and his gf)

Me and wifey

The 3 sisters

After the dinner, all went to my humble house and watch CJ7 together, had a great time..

Mon: Home Sweet Home
haiz.. good times always passes fast... time for all to say goodbye.. However.. we shall all meet very soon... in Sep, when my prince arrive, a new member to the family...... LOLZ...

This post very the long... actually already try to cut short le.. got a lot of story to tell.. next time ba...

Touched my heart, hope it touched yours too.

Hair For Hope - 6 July 08

Hair for Hope is coming again...

Hair for Hope is an event, which invites members of the public to shave their heads to show their support for children with cancer. Through this symbolic gesture, we aim to:

  • Create awareness of childhood cancer in Singapore.
  • Tell every child with cancer and their families that they are not alone in the fight against cancer and that there is nothing wrong about losing hair or being bald
  • Raise funds to help children with cancer and their families
  • Build a community of support for children with cancer

Why Shave Heads?

Patients’ hair loss, from treatments of cancer such as chemotherapy, is a representation of his or her courageous fight against cancer. Through the symbolic gesture of shaving our heads, we hope to lend moral support to all children with cancer, and to let them know that there is nothing wrong with being bald.

http://www.ccf.org.sg/hfh/index.php

I have missed the last 2 years, have always wanted to take part in this event.. hopefully I can take up the courage to do it this year. Anyone want to join me???

Dedicate this song to our baby..

無與倫比的美麗, to all the babies and parents/parents to be.. "你若担心你不能飞,你有我的蝴蝶..."

26 Weeks le!

My baby is into his 26 weeks le... and my wife tummy is getting bigger and bigger.. By this time, the rate of growth will usually be faster and I can actually feel the baby kicking in the tummy.. Every night, we will try to sing some songs to him before sleep and seem that he do respond to the singing and stop kicking when we finish the song.. How amazing!!! :)
